Selections for Tuesday, 7 July racing at Palmerston North (M3) and Addington (M9)

Another day with 24 races so plenty of opportunities to pay for scones tomorrow more.  With lashings of jam!  So try and find the races where you have confidence you can get some back.

Updates throughout the day.

Best Bet

Palmerston North M3 R2 Thrilling Baxter (3)

Top rated and maps to lead.  I’m not convinced he’s a $2.10 shot but with the TAB confirming it’s a money back race, it adds a bit of insurance into the price.

RP $2.20 currently $2.10FF

Yes, once he got safely away the $2.10 was easy money.

Speed Map Special

Palmerston North M3 R4 Emgrand Rose (6)

Last week was one of our selections and it was over at the start.  He almost broke the track record a couple of starts back so $3.30 is great money.  All the early money is on Thrilling Nina but I’m not convinced the inside draw suits with her usual slow starts.  There’s a short run to the first turn so the Rose could manage to get a decent lead if he jumps like he has been and make a race of it.  Can never eliminate Kamada Park but he makes the Warriors form look consistent!

RP $2.20 currently $3.30FF

Yes, couldn’t find a better example of how early pace is essential in any greyhound race while the favourite was slow away as expected.  Nice result all round.  $3.90 on the tote was criminal.

Boxed to Win

Addington M9 R3 Mitcham Reado (1)

He will really appreciate the inside draw and rates very strongly.  His best form by far is from the inside four boxes but he hasn’t drawn closer in that box 4 since January.  There’s no a lot of pace in this race either so he’s a good chance of jumping and holding the rails.

RP $2.40 currently $3.20FF

Just a little slow out of the boxes and held on for third.

Big Value Bets

There’s a couple of runners who look to be paying well over the odds in their respective races and worth a gold coin each way:

Palmerston North Race 10 – Dynamite Danger (1) no early speed in this and he has great form from box 1 Second

Addington Race 7 – Curly Bill (8) – if he had drawn a marble, he would be close to odds on.  The draw is the concern but he’s a chance to get on the early pace and with any luck at the start would thrash these.  Early money has come too.  Just never got into the race ran on well for fourth.  One for the black book if he can get a better draw.

Addington Race 10 – Homebush Velma (3) – loves box 3 and rates well in a restricted age event – Jumped and run like you want them to – great money and hopefully you had her in your quaddie.
