Selections for Tuesday, 30 June racing at Palmerston North (M3) and Addington (M9)

Addington M9 R7 Taieri Missile (2)

Has all the stats in his favour.  Rated 64 in his second career start and that should be enough to win again today. Should also be helped by not a lot of box speed either side in particular.

Got a better start today but the inside draw likely suited.  From there would have been a shock to see him lose.  Another good day for the selections and of course the Predictor.

Speed Map Special

Palmerston North M3 R4 Emgrand Rose (7)

It might seem odd to have a speed maps special on a distance race but box speed matters in all greyhound races.  KP picked the jump last week and caused a massive upset but this looks more suited to the Rose.  He maps to lead with not much early speed elsewhere and if he can pick the jump he should lead all the way.  He almost broke the track record a couple of starts back.

Perhaps no better example of how box speed is critical in all greyhound racing.  Once Rose made the front as mapped, it was all over and a low stress collect.

Value Bet

Palmerston North M3 R9 Fools Russian (1)

To be fair, not outrageous value but the bookies are on their A game today.  Fools Russian rates on top but what helps is the dog in box two is a scouter who will go via Ashhurst and then Foxton.  So it should keep the rails open for Fools Russian while also a risk factor for wider runners.

I’ll send the cheque to Mothers Touch who could get a job blocking in the NFL.  Pretty much to script – nice when it happens.

Palmerston North M3 R7 Big Time Kiss (3)

Looks the class dog in this race.  Three starts in C4 and won’t be long until back in C5.

Yes. Opened at $2.30 so bookies won’t be having scones tomorrow.  Wouldn’t have wanted much further but never really in doubt.

Money Back Races – Palmerston North Races 1 + 2

Race 1 is an even race so save money for the better bets.

Race 2 Big Time Baby was very competitive in a C5 race last week when downgrading.  Sectionals say she should lead and then any bad luck behind makes it tough.

Missed the start and to be fair stuck on ok for fourth so we get our money back.  But with a poor start like that, was never a winning chance.

3 wins from four selections but four returns so a good day. 18.2 units + 2 bonus bet units so we doubled our money today.
