Selections for Thursday, 21 May racing at Addington (M9)

Another night with a number of short priced favourites but also a few tricky races.  Should be a good night to watch and hopefully make some back.

Best Bet

Addington  M9 R1 Speedy Boss (1)

The boss has only been beaten in one sprint here.  I’m not 100% sold on the inside draw but in this field and at C4 she should be able to get out in front and stay clear of any trouble. She rates well clear of the rest in terms of best ratings and last 6 starts so should be too good for them unless she bombs the start.  Not a lot of value in the $1.50 but should be a decent multi maker plus there’s bonus money back on FF if she finishes at least 4th.

The $1.50 is good money after the race especially with the money back offer.

Value Bet

Addington  M9 R3 Ever Rested  (5)

Another with great form over the distance winning 4 from 4.  Up in grade but won from box 6 last start rating a most impressive 90.  Same again would be too good for them.  The two obvious dangers are Smash Over (2) having her first start since the lockdown and Platinum Paisley (8) who is downgrading.  Another race where the jump will be critical but we say that about pretty much every dog race.

Jumped as we wanted and never really looked in trouble.  On disappointment was the 8 dog missing second. 

Downgrader Danger

Addington  M9 R6 Our Dazzel (4)

Same as last – last time he dropped out of C5 he took two races to go back up.  This is his third and he’s placed in both races since his downgrade.  There’s a couple of other chances but based on the last couple of races Our Dazzel looks to have an edge.  Oakmont (7) is the obvious danger but his best times have been a little closer in.  Fired Up Jed is more miss than hit but has an improved draw and is another downgrader.

Not quite – another second just half a stride slow was crossed, checked and that was it.

A better night and almost the clean sweep.  A return of 16.70 units and a profit of 6.70 units.
