It’s week four of the terminating Pick 6s – at least at Palmerston North – and we saw yesterday’s struck by just .42 of a unit.  Not surprisingly, I’ll focus on the Pick 6 races for today’s analysis.

Race 7

It does look an open race – the top rated in the Predictor is paying $14 while the bottom rated is paying $6.  So go as wide as your budget permits.

Race 8

This looks like a race where you can take two with some confidence.  Bigtime Pete is the track record holder and is 4 from 5 in box 8.  Trojan Hoarse (1) hasn’t race over the 410 previously at PN but he’s a dual group 1 winner and has the early pace.  They look the obvious quinella.

Race 9

The ratings and book says that it’s a race in 3 with 1,4, and 7 rating on top.  If your budget permits, the ratings would suggest you need to throw in 3 and 2.  Little Scamp pops up in the sectionals and is just the type of dog to blow the Pick 6 wide open.

Race 10

How big is your budget?  Another wide open race.

Race 11
You need to have 1,2,3,6 and 8 but that should be all you need.
Race 12
A terrible race to analyse with three runners debuting over the course and distance so no form to compare.  You need to have Jax Jewel (5) and Bigtime Rusty (1).  If everything goes to plan that should be all you need although there’s a flag with Rusty drawn on the inside – he will look to get wider.  That said, there shouldn’t be a lot of pressure from his outside.  Choice Lass (6) is the third favourite but you would have to take on trust.  At least if you are live in to the last leg, you have the option of covering other runners.
