It’s week two of the terminating Pick 6s and we saw yesterday’s struck by just .24 of a unit and paying a whopping $120K. Wouldn’t say no to that just quietly. So, we’ll focus our analysis on the Pick 6 races and hope we can help find that blowout winner.
Bet of the Day – Funky Facts (3) Race 2
I like the each way value around Funky Facts in race 2. He looks one of the three main chances and paying around $5, I’m happy to play into that with a bit of cover.
The key as always will be the start. He is a slow trapper but there doesn’t appear to be a huge amount of early pace in this race and the sectionals suggest he could even get on the pace early. If he can at least get a decent start, his closing sectional should get him across the line – he has 5 of the top 10 closing sectionals.
I’d rate him around $3.50RP so the $4.80FF is value. The place money is not bad at $1.75 when some dogs are running around today paying less to win.
I wouldn’t go made with the rent money but he looks like a dog who is paying a little bit of value EW and could help anchor the exotics.
Not today – just didn’t get the jump and then got checked. Still have the rent money though!
Multi Makers
- R8 Bigtime Pete – he continues to turn up and win. Always a risk from out wide but bad luck would be the only way they will beat him. He didn’t jump and missed today.
Pick 6 Overview – Races 7-12
Funny old pick 6 – no real roughie but still paid $1600. Predictor made it easier.
Race 7 – Looks like a repeat of last week’s first leg with Don’t Knocka Gee (5) and Billy’s Bake (2) the top two picks. Waitohi (1) to get has drawn the inside box and might be worth including if your budget allows. Billy’s Bake turned the table although DKG clearly had an issue and was literally running on three legs. Easy start to pick 6.
Race 8 – A much more open race with more than a few chances. Only two dogs are paying double figures and both have some claims. BT Otis has been running OK races while Blue Precision upset many last week. Go as wide as your budget allows. Second rated predictor runner took this out.
Race 9 – The bookies have this as a race in two but I would include Limpy Jackson. He’s a slow trapper but a smaller field helps and he has the strongest closing sectionals. Limpy was the value runner today and won well.
Race 10 – Another race where you might need to go wide. The ratings suggest there’s 5 or 6 chances. You should be able to eliminate BT Leo (0-3 T&D and no time run) and Retail Mayhem but you can’t really say with 100% confidence they have no show. Again, what you budget allows. Sadly if you took the field you don’t want to see the favourite win. Top rated in predictor.
Race 11 – Again, the bookies have it in 2 with BT Daisy and BT Tina the clear favourites. I think there’s a lot of value around Slam It (6). He gets back but he has the best record of T&D and also the best closing sectionals. Top rated in predictor wins.
Race 12 – If you’re still live going into the last, on paper it looks like a race in 2 or 3. You have to have BT Marlisa while the only other runner to have rated higher than 26 in their last 6 starts is jax Jewel. Bigtime Kylie has the ace alley and the early box speed so she needs to be included. Top rated in predictor wins.
Value Bet of the Day
The value bet of the day is obvious the Pick 6. Can’t get better than 20K terminating.
