As you may have noticed, the Formpro Ratings has been relaunched.  It’s the biggest change to the Ratings since they were first launched almost 10 years ago.

So what are the changes?

New Membership Platform

We’ve changed the membership platform to Woocommerce, the leading e-commerce platform for WordPress.  This change will allow us to provide a wider range of membership benefits and more targeted benefits too.

More Imagery

As the Ratings have matured, we’ve been able to provide more and more data but after a while even we go cross-eyed with rows and columns of data!  You will notice that we’ve started to use a lot more imagery to make it easier to process and interpret the data and that’s something you can expect to see more of in the future too.

New Theme and Design

We’ve replaced the old theme which served us well but over time, things need to be updated.  The new theme will help us provide a better service for mobile and other smart devices.

New Data Model

There’s also been some changes to the data for example to handle the change in way greyhound meetings are now split in two for the lowkey Wanganui and Palmerston meetings.  We’re also adding addition codes and data although it’s important to confirm that we are still very much focussing on NZ racing and greyhounds at this stage.

New Functionality

Last and not least, while it may not appear to be the case at this stage, all the changes above mean we will soon start rolling out new functionality.

In the next week or two, we’ll release a Rugs Challenge page for the greyhounds.

We’re completing rebuilding the racing preference page which shows where runners have settled in the recent racing.

There’s also a whole bunch of backend changes to address some frustrations eg setting the TAB Fixed Odds code when it’s not the same as the TAB code.

Feedback and Suggestions

All in all, we expect that over the next 6 months the Ratings site will grow significantly in terms of data, functionality and providing punters with the information they want.  We always listen to feedback and suggestions.

At the same time, we appreciate that a major change like this can cause some teething issues so we appreciate your patience and understanding.
